Club career

Ludovit Reis began his career in the youth of SV Hoofddorp in Haarlemmermeer . In 2015 he moved to the first division club FC Groningen . Just two years later he was included in the first team squad. Reis played his first competitive game in the men's area on September 2, 2017 for the second team from Groningen against DOVO Veenendaal . In this game he was used over the entire game. Prior to this, Reis had been part of the first team's matchday squad several times. For the first time he played on October 15 in the home game against AZ Alkmaar . At 1-1 he came on after 81 minutes of play. After this game, the only 17-year-old midfielder was regularly on the field for the first team. During his third game, he scored his first goal in a competitive game; the 1: 1 shot in the meantime at Sparta Rotterdam was not enough for FC Groningen to win points. At the beginning of the second half of the season, Reis injured himself and was used in only seven of 17 games, which meant that he lost his regular place. In total, he played in half of 36 games.

Reis worked his way back at the beginning of the following season at the beginning of the following season. By the end of the first half of the season he played 14 of 18 games.

For the 2019/20 season, Reis moved to Spain to FC Barcelona . He signed a contract until 30 June 2022 of an option for another two years and an exit clause in the amount of 100 million euros includes, and is in the squad since the second team , which in the third-tier Segunda División B plays.

National team

Due to his birth in the Netherlands and the origin of both parents, Reis is still able to play for both the Dutch and the Slovak associations . In an interview in September 2018, after Reis first appeared for the U19 of the Netherlands , he stated that he had firmly decided in favor of the Dutch selections. The Slovak association had approached him several times, but Reis decided against a career for Slovakia because of the higher level of football in the Dutch selections. However, an unalterable career for a nation is only possible after completing at least one competitive game for an A selection.
