Ludwig Eisenhofer
Ludwig Eisenhofer (born April 1, 1871 in Munich ; † March 29, 1941 in Eichstätt ) was a German liturgist and university professor in Eichstätt .
Eisenhofer studied philosophy and theology in Freising (1890/91). After being ordained priest in Freising in 1895, he briefly worked in pastoral care ( Pasing ) and as prefect of studies at the Albertinum (Munich) and received his doctorate as Dr. theol. 1897 at the LMU Munich . In 1898 he became professor of patrology , liturgy and church history at the Episcopal Philosophical-Theological University in Eichstätt. His field was the history of the liturgy, in which he made a name for himself through his standard work “Handbuch der Catholic Liturgik” (1931/2).
In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
