Ludwig Fürholzer

Ludwig Fürholzer (born September 22, 1883 in Cham ; † after November 9, 1937 ) was a German officer and SA functionary, most recently with the rank of SA brigade leader .

Life

Son of the pharmacist Ludwig Fürholzer (born August 24, 1853 in Weisingen , Lks. Dillingen, Swabia) and the major daughter Maria Anna, b. Staubwasser (born April 2, 1862) from Munich ( Upper Bavaria ).

After the First World War , Fürholzer retired as a major from the Bavarian army . As a personal friend of Ernst Röhm , he was active in the paramilitary association Reichskriegsflagge in the early 1920s , with which he participated in the Hitler putsch in November 1923 .

At the end of the 1920s, Fürholzer can be identified as an adjutant to Rudolf Kanzler in the management of the ORKA organization .

From 1931 to 1933 Fürholzer served as leader of the SA sub-group Swabia . After he had not adequately counteracted the tensions between SS and SA in his area of ​​responsibility, in the opinion of SS group leader Friedrich Karl von Eberstein , he was removed from his post in 1933 and transferred to the office of Ernst Röhm.

Fürholzer reached his highest rank in the SA on November 9, 1937 when he was promoted to brigade leader.
