Ludwig Holzfurtner

Ludwig Holzfurtner (born January 31, 1954 in Munich ) is a German historian .

From 1975 to 1982 he studied history, Catholic theology and Latin philology of the Middle Ages at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After receiving his doctorate in 1982 as Dr. phil. since then he has been a research assistant for the Commission for Bavarian State History at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . After completing his habilitation in 1993, teaches at the University of Munich. On April 14, 2000 he was appointed adjunct professor.

His main research interests are the intellectual, social and constitutional history of the early and high Middle Ages and the history of Bavaria in the 19th century. With his habilitation, the fallow field of county research was comprehensively researched for the first time in the 11th century.
