Ludwig Kleinwächter (doctor)
Ludwig Kleinwächter (born November 15, 1839 in Prague , † April 11, 1906 in Chernivtsi ) was an Austrian obstetrician and gynecologist .
Life
He studied medicine at Charles University in Prague, where he also received his doctorate in 1863 and took up a position as a secondary doctor at the General Hospital. From 1868 to 1872 he was assistant to Bernhard Seyfert at the obstetric clinic. In 1871 he received his habilitation in obstetrics and in 1875 he was appointed associate professor. In 1878 he became a full professor at the University of Innsbruck . In 1881 he gave up the chair and opened a practice in Czernowitz, where his brother Friedrich von Kleinwächter taught as a full professor of political science . He turned down a call to a university in the United States.
Ludwig Kleinwächter published a few monographs and over 150 articles.
His son was the lawyer and publicist Friedrich FG Kleinwächter .
