Ludwig Max Roth

Ludwig Max Roth (* 1858 in Hamburg ; † 1952 in Uetersen ) was a German painter .

He attended the Hamburg Art Academy and later had a professorship at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . At that time in Düsseldorf , around 1910, his studio was in the so-called “ Wunderbau ” on Pempelforter Strasse.

He was a painter , whose large oil paintings often had church history as their theme . His pictures can be seen in various museums and churches. He last lived with his son, the painter Kurt Roth , in very modest circumstances in the Uetersen monastery .

Ludwig Max Roth died of old age in 1952 at the age of 94 .
