Ludwig Mecklenburg
Ludwig Mecklenburg (also Louis, born September 15, 1820 in Hamburg , † June 11, 1882 in Munich ) was a German landscape and vedute painter, lithographer and graphic artist.
Ludwig Mecklenburg was a student of the Hamburg landscape and vedute painter Johann Joachim Faber (1778–1846) and was a member of the Hamburg Artists' Association from 1832 .
Following the example of his master, Mecklenburg spent many years in Italy , especially in Venice and Verona . Mecklenburg had been active in Munich since 1843.
The artist's works are u. a. in the collections of the Neue Pinakothek in Munich , the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the municipal art collection in Rostock.
