Ludwig Rudolf Schiller

Ludwig Rudolf Schiller , also Ludwig Rudolph Schiller (born November 4, 1710 in Blankenburg (Harz) ; † January 30, 1779 there ) was an Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and, as superintendent from 1764 to 1778, the leading clergyman in the Principality of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel in personal union connected principality Blankenburg .

Life

Born as the son of the postmaster and pharmacist Gottfried Schiller, Ludwig Rudolf Schiller was pastor in Trautenstein after studying theology from 1737 to 1744 . In 1744 he became city preacher at the St. Catherine Church in Blankenburg. Associated with this was the office of prior of the Michaelstein Monastery . In 1764, while retaining the priory, he was appointed pastor at the local Bartholomew Church and superintendent of the principality of Blankenburg and consistorial assessor at the ducal consistory . In 1774 he received the title of councilor . In 1778 he retired. Heinrich Gottlieb Nyssenius was his successor.
