Ludwig Seibert

Ludwig (Louis) Seibert (born May 21, 1833 in Cleeberg ; † July 29, 1903 in Altenberg Monastery near Solms) was a German music director and composer.

Seibert began his career in the military service of the Duchy of Nassau . In 1859 he became conductor of the regimental band in the former Nassau capital of Weilburg . He also headed the city song board . In 1867 he went to the Nassau capital Wiesbaden as a music teacher, where he became music director.

In addition to operas and symphonies, Seibert also wrote overtures and chamber music as well as choirs and songs.
