Ludwig Wilhelm Geldricus Ernst of Bentheim and Steinfurt

Ludwig Wilhelm Geldricus Ernst zu Bentheim and Steinfurt (born October 1, 1756 at Steinfurt Castle ; † August 20, 1817 ) was an imperial count, from 1817 prince, from the house of Bentheim-Steinfurt .

Life

He was the second son of Count Karl Paul Ernst von Bentheim-Steinfurt and Charlotte Sophie von Nassau-Siegen . Since his brother Karl (* February 13, 1753; † September 5, 1772) died before both father, Ludwig was his successor as Count von Steinfurt in 1780 .

Marriage and offspring

On July 17, 1776, he married Juliane Wilhelmine von Schleswig-Holstein-Glücksburg (* April 30, 1754, † September 14, 1823) the daughter of Duke Friedrich zu Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg . The couple had the following eight children:
