Ludwig von Bar (born April 11, 1886 in Langelage , † August 1, 1928 in Bruche ) was a German administrative lawyer and most recently district administrator of the Melle district .

Life

Career

Ludwig von Bar comes from the von Bar family and was the son of the manor owner Otto von Bar (1842–1916) and his wife Frida von Lütcken (1856–1934), daughter of Eduard Christian von Lütcken . His great-grandfather was Herbord Sigismund Ludwig von Bar . He attended the rector's school in Bad Essen and the grammar school in Rinteln . He studied law and political science in Grenoble, Munich , Kiel and Marburg . His appointment as a government trainee was followed by a lengthy stay abroad in London and Paris. As a government assessor, von Bar was in charge of various district offices before he was appointed deputy chairman of the Prussian State Office for Foodstuffs in 1917. In 1919 he became a consultant for nutritional matters at the Higher Presidium of the Province of Westphalia in Münster. At the suggestion of the district council, he was entrusted with the provisional administration of the district office of Melle in August 1919 and was confirmed as district administrator in 1920.

During his tenure, among other things, the previous preparation facility for the district was acquired and converted into a district building. In 1924 the district took over the "Engelgarten" manor house to house the welfare and youth welfare office. He also took part in the Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerk ( Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerk) under von Bars's direction , promoted the expansion of the district roads and earned services to water management in the district, in particular through the Elsemelioration he initiated (1925).

In 1922 Ludwig von Bar married Elisabeth von Pestel, née Freiin von Hammerstein-Gesmold , the widow of his predecessor Otto von Pestel , from whom she inherited the Bruche estate , which has belonged to the von Bar family ever since. The lawyer Christian von Bar is one of his grandchildren .
