Ludwig Wilhelm Karl Lauter , von Lauter since 1913 (born April 23, 1855 in Georgenborn ; † April 8, 1929 in Heidelberg ) was a Prussian artillery general and inspector general of the foot artillery as well as commander and later chief of the Schleswig-Holstein foot artillery regiment No. 9 . In 1913, Lauter was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II . During the First World War he was General of the Foot Artillery in the Grand Headquarters until 1917 . In recognition of his many years of service he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Red Eagle Order with Oak Leaves and Swords in November 1917 .

Lauter married Ida Ungerer on December 29, 1888 in Strasbourg. The daughter Walli (* 1889) emerged from this marriage.
