Ludwigsthal (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludwigsthal is a desert in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It is located in Western Pomerania , about 30 kilometers southeast of Szczecin .

The village of Ludwigsthal was created in the 19th century. When the landlord and farming conditions were regulated (see: Prussian Agrarian Constitution ) in the villages of Klein Küssow and Verchland , the independent farmers of these villages were relocated to a new settlement from 1822. There were four Kossät from Klein Küssow and one Kossät from Verchland. In Klein Küssow and Verchland themselves, the manors remained with the estate staff. This new settlement was a little over two kilometers east of Klein Küssow, very close to the neighboring village of Schlötenitz , from which it was separated by the Hufnitz river . It was named Ludwigsthal after the landlord of Klein Küssow and Verchland, the secret councilor Ludwig Geibler .

At the end of 1822 Ludwigsthal had 29 inhabitants, around 1860 31 inhabitants. In 1910 the community of Ludwigsthal only had 14 inhabitants.

Ludwigsthal was later incorporated into the rural community of Schlötenitz . Until 1945 Ludwigsthal belonged as part of the municipality of Schlötenitz to the Pyritz district of the Prussian province of Pomerania .

After the Second World War , Ludwigsthal, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. Today the place is desolate. It lies in the area of Gmina Stargard (rural community Stargard in Pomerania) .
