Aviation Museum Kunovice

The Aviation Museum Kunovice (Czech Letecké muzeum Kunovice ) is a museum in the Uherské Hradiště district (Okres Uherské Hradiště) in southeastern Czech Republic . One focus of the collection is the products of the manufacturer Let Kunovice .

history

The museum was founded in 1970 on the initiative of members of the local air sports club. It is located on the edge of the Kunovice airfield. The types produced by the manufacturer Let Kunovice are almost entirely in the museum's collection. The planes are in the open.

The museum can be reached by car and train, and there is a stop near the museum.

Tu-154

Together with the Aviation Museum in Olomouc, the museum was able to acquire the two former Czech government aircraft of the Tu-154M type . The necessary funds were raised through crowdfunding . The machines will be dismantled by volunteers at the previous storage location at the Prague-Kbely military airfield , transported by heavy-duty truck to Kunovice and then rebuilt there. The first Tu-154M was brought to Kunovice in autumn 2016.
