Lufthansa City Center is the world's largest independent franchise company in the travel agency market. The chain of owner-operated travel agencies includes 300 offices with around 2,400 employees in Germany alone. The headquarters of the Lufthansa City Center is in Frankfurt am Main .

The enterprise

The LCC Group franchise company consists of Lufthansa City Center Reisebüropartner GmbH (LCR) and, for the international business, the subsidiary Lufthansa City Center International GmbH (LCCI) . The chain comprises 570 offices worldwide with a total of 5,300 employees in around 95 countries. In 2018, the companies generated a total turnover of around 5.3 billion euros, which was broken down into 3.51 billion euros in the corporate travel sector (business travel) and 1.76 billion euros in the leisure travel sector (tourism). The LCC business travel division operates under the LCC Business Travel label .

A global network with a strong base in Germany is a particular strength of the franchise system. A characteristic of this are the LCC Global Travel label for travel agency partners who are active in the multinational corporate business and look after global business customers in their country, as well as the Global Incoming Network (GIN) as an international LCC Incoming network with special insider know-how. how for the areas of individual, group and MICE travel.

history

The franchise chain emerged from the Lufthansa city offices. In 1991, Deutsche Lufthansa AG opened the first LCC in Dresden . In 1994 the Lufthansa City Center Reisebüropartner GmbH (LCR) franchise center was founded. In the following years, the company moved from its previous location at Frankfurt Airport to the company's current headquarters in Frankfurt-Niederrad . In 2000, the travel agency partners took over all parts of their franchise system.

The first international Lufthansa City Center from Tallinn joined the network in 1992. In 1999 the international activities were merged in a newly founded Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI). The travel agencies are now represented on all continents of the world.

LCC Reisebüro Aktiengesellschaft was founded at the beginning of 2017. The aim of LCC Reisebüro AG is to secure not only their locations, but also the growth of LCC as a whole, by purchasing travel agencies. In addition to the Lufthansa City Center Reisebüropartner GmbH (LCR) franchise company, the company's shareholders are various LCC franchise partners.
