Luigi Mazza

Luigi Mazza (born October 12, 1960 in New York City ) is a San Marinese politician. He was from October 1, 1997 to April 1, 1998 together with Marino Zanotti Capitano Reggente (head of state).

Mazza is a member of the Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese (PDCS). He was a member of the party executive and belonged to the central council (consiglio centrale) of the party.

from 1993 to 1998 he was a member of the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . For the term of office from October 1, 1997 to April 1, 1998 he was elected together with Marino Zanotti to Capitano Reggente , the head of state.

In the parliamentary elections in 1998 and 2001 Mazza did not run, in 2006 he ran on the list of the PDCS, but failed to make it into parliament. In the 2008 election he was re-elected to parliament and was chairman of the parliamentary group (capogruppo) of the PDCS. In the parliamentary elections he was confirmed on the list of the PDCS and again took over the office of parliamentary group leader. Mazza did not run for the 2016 parliamentary election.

Honors

Mazza was awarded the Grand Cross with Grand Chain of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by the Italian President on March 3, 1998 .
