Luis Alberto Acosta (born December 15, 1952 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player who mainly played in midfield .

career

Acosta spent his first professional years at Montevideo Wanderers FC . In 1984 he moved to Club America in Mexico and was part of the squad that successfully defended the championship title of the Mexican league that had already been won the previous year in the 1984/85 season . About River Plate and Peñarol Montevideo he returned to the Montevideo Wanderers, where he was under contract in the seasons 1987 and 1988 as well as in his last season in 1995. In between he played for several clubs in Ecuador and the Uruguayan club Huracán Buceo .

Between 1983 and 1988 Acosta played 15 international appearances for the Uruguayan national soccer team , with most appearances in 1983, when he was also part of the regular formation of the team that won the domestic Copa America .
