Luis Estrada (born July 7, 1948 in El Salto , Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Chino , is a retired Mexican soccer player who was used in attacking midfield and attack .

Life

"El Chino" Estrada began his professional career in the 1964/65 season at Club León , with whom he won the Mexican Cup three times . He also won the Mexican Supercup with León in 1971 by beating champions America 1-0 , with Estrada scoring the decisive goal. He had already proven his scoring skills in the 1968/69 season when he became the top scorer in the Mexican league .

In 1973 Estrada moved to the then serial champion Cruz Azul , with whom he came to his first and only championship title in 1973/74 . Then he also won the Supercup with this club, and again (this time 2-1) against Club America, which had qualified as a cup winner for the final.

The 1977/78 season he spent at Atlético Potosino and then ended his active career at Club León.

National team

Estrada made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on March 12, 1967 in a game for the CONCACAF Nations Cup in 1967 , when Trinidad and Tobado was defeated and the debutant Estrada contributed two goals to the 4-0 success. In the 1-0 win against Haiti two days later, he scored the decisive goal. While he scored a total of six goals in the ten international matches he played in 1967 and 1968, he managed only one goal in the 12 games thereafter. "Chino" Estrada made his last international appearance on April 5, 1972 in a game against Peru, which was won 2-1.
