Luis María Estrada Paetau

Luis María Estrada Paetau OP (born May 26, 1935 in Guatemala City , † March 25, 2011 ) was a Guatemalan religious and Roman Catholic bishop .

Life

Estrada Paetau joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 26 March 1961, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 30, 1970 as Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration El Peten in Guatemala. On October 27, 1977 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. Appointed Titular Bishop of Regiae and Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration Izabal . The episcopal ordination donated to him on December 12, 1977 Archbishop Emanuele Gerada , Nuncio in Guatemala; Co-consecrators were James Richard Ham MM , Auxiliary Bishop in Guatemala, and Rodolfo Quezada Toruño , Coadjutor Bishop in Zacapa. Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 12, 1988 Episcopal Vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Izabal .

His resignation was granted on June 12, 2004.
