Luis Trochón

Luis Trochón (born November 24, 1956 in Montevideo ; † March 3, 2020 ibid) was a Uruguayan singer , composer , lecturer and theater director .

Life

Trochón started his solo career in 1975 after completing his musical training with Héctor Tosar , Coriún Aharonián , Inés Bayerthal , Graciela Paraskevaídis , Roberto Fontana , Ramiro Agriel and Nelly Pacheco , among others . In 1977 he co-founded the group Los que Iban Cantando together with Jorge Lazaroff , Jorge Bonaldi and Jorge Di Pólito . From 1978 he also worked as a lecturer in the field of popular music ( música popular ) for actors and musical performers. In 1983 he founded both theTaller Uruguayo de Música Popular (TUMP) as well as the Talleres Latinoamericanos de Música Popular . By 1988 he had over 900 concerts as a soloist and with Los que Iban Cantando . He performed both at home and abroad. In 2000 he won the "Víctor Soliño" competition for the best unpublished song of the year as part of the carnival. In 2001 he founded the Escuela de Comedia Musical . Trochón also appeared as a theater music producer and was nominated five times for the Premio Florencio in this context .
