Luise Heilborn-Körbitz
Luise Heilborn-Körbitz (born July 25, 1874 in Berlin ; † January 15, 1961 there ) was a German screenwriter and dramaturge .
Life
Adolf Heilborn's sister studied literature and languages. In 1912 she became a dramaturge for the film company Bioscop and wrote screenplays, most of which were filmed by Emil Albes . She also completed the copies and supervised the film editing. When war broke out in 1914, she invested 20,000 Reichsmarks in Bioscop to ensure that production could continue.
After the company was sold, she left in April 1919 and became a freelance writer. In 1923 Lupu Pick hired her as a dramaturg for the Rex company. In this role she was responsible for editing foreign films, translating the subtitles and editing.
From 1920 she worked with director Gerhard Lamprecht . Her most important work during this time was the script for the film adaptation of the novel by Thomas Manns Buddenbrooks , written with Alfred Fekete . In 1925 she moved to National-Film AG and mainly adapted novels, including Hermann Sudermann's Der Katzensteg . She worked u. a. under the pseudonym Hanns Torius .
At the beginning of the 1930s, she withdrew from the film world for health reasons and published her brother's popular and scientific books. After the Second World War she lived in West Berlin .
