Luise Werckmeister

Luise Werckmeister (born July 29, 1882 in Berlin as Luise Auguste Hubert ; † March 28, 1942 there ) was a German actress .

Live and act

Luise Werckmeister had been on stage since around the turn of the century and was a member of the Max Reinhardt German Theater ensemble in her hometown of Berlin even before the First World War . In later years there are almost no more permanent commitments. During the First World War the film gained more and more importance in her artistic career, and she played a number of supporting roles in mostly less important productions. After only three sound films, Luise Werckmeister finished her work in front of the camera.

She was married to director Hans Werckmeister from 1901 until the divorce in 1922 . Their daughter was the actress Vicky Werckmeister .
