Lukas Irmler (* 1988 in Dachau ) is a German slackliner . He specializes in highlining, i.e. slacklining at great heights. He has appeared worldwide as an artist and show act , as well as a speaker , since 2010 .

Success on the slackline

In 2019 Irmler set the absolute length record in slacklining . He crossed an almost 2000 m long highline in Asbestos, Canada. He also managed the longest blindfolded distance in 2019 by crossing a highline of almost 1 km in Russia. Between 2010 and 2013 Irmler set several world records in the longline discipline, increasing the record from 233 m to up to 425 m. In 2014 he and his Austrian colleague Reinhard Kleindl crossed the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe on a slackline.

Irmler also earned various world records on the highline. In 2012 he received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the most "Korean Buttbounces" in one minute. In the same year he made the longest highline in a city. In 2013, Irmler started the highest highline in the world at 5222 m above sea level on the Yanapaccha in Peru. Also in 2013, Irmler was the first in the world to perform the "Luke Skywalker trick" on the highline, which for decades was considered impossible.

Lecturing

Since 2014 Irmler has been giving lectures on his travels as well as on topics such as coping with fear, risk management , motivation and inspiration .
