Luke Matheny

Luke Matheny (born December 23, 1976 in Wilmington ) is an American actor, screenwriter and director.

Life

Matheny initially studied until 1997 at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Illinois and then worked as a journalist. He eventually graduated from New York University's Graduate Film Program . His graduation film was God of Love in 2010 , which he directed, wrote the screenplay and starred. The film received the gold medal of the Student Academy Awards in 2010 and was awarded an Oscar for Best Short Film in 2011 .

Although Matheny indicated after the award that he did not want to make any more short films, he released another short film in 2011 with The Date . Matheny has been making his feature film debut Lovesick with Matt LeBlanc in the leading role since 2012 . Matheny also appeared as a director in the pilot for the Amazon Studios original series Gortimer Gibbon - My Life on Normal Street .
