Luke Steele (singer)
Luke James Steele (born December 13, 1979 in Perth , Western Australia ) is an Australian singer and songwriter for the alternative rock band The Sleepy Jackson . Steele is also a member of the pop duo Empire of the Sun .
Life
Steele belongs to a musical family. Steele's father, Rick, is a blues guitarist and harmonica player. Steele has three siblings Katy, Jake and Jesse. In 2007 he founded Empire of the Sun .
Steele has been engaged to Jodi, who also belonged to The Sleepy Jackson, since 2006. In October 2008 their first child, a daughter, was born.
In 2018 he founded the duo Dreams with Daniel Johns .
Steele's influences include Elliott Smith , Paul McCartney , John Lennon , Brian Wilson , Carole King , James Taylor , The Four Freshmen and Cole Porter .
