The Lukusashi is a tributary of the Lunsemfwa in the central province of Zambia .

course

The river is the outflow of the 19 kilometers long and 9 kilometers wide Lusiwashi Lake and Swamp in the Muchinga Mountains 70 kilometers west of Serenje . Together with its main river Lunsemfwa in the Luana Valley, it forms the most powerful tributary of the Luangwa. They carry water all year round and rise by over five meters after rainfall.

Since the South Luangwa National Park is about 40 kilometers to the east, i.e. in the immediate vicinity, wild animals of all kinds can be found on its banks and in the water.

Hydrometry

The flow rate of the Lukusashi was measured at the mouth between 1963 and 1992 in m³ / s.
