Lunarchy
Lunarchy is a German progressive rock band from Hof (Saale) . Stylistically, Lunarchy is compared with Saga , Marillion or older Genesis , but also bands such as Rush , Queensrÿche or Fates Warning . The expressive vocals by Rainer Ludwig with sometimes unusual lyrics (Marvins's song, about the depressive robot from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ) make the music so special.
Band history
The band Lunarchy was founded in 1986 , still under the name "Lightnyng", by Rainer Ludwig, Fritz Petri, Jochen Sauter, Günter Hopperdiezel and Werner Lang. Werner Lang was replaced in 1990 by Markus Dollinger (a great-nephew of the painter Heiner Grimm ).
With the first demo "The Principles Of Pride" ( 1991 ), the band - with the current drummer Jochen 'Bauch' Häffner - was discovered and signed by the Gorgon / Warner Bros. label . After the first pre-productions in 1992 , the CD "Mind And Motion" was recorded in the Delta Sound Studios in Wilster in the summer of 1993 , where artists such as Accept , The Alan Parsons Project , Scorpions and Lou Reed have already recorded. Fates Warning were also on site during the recording , with whom there was an intensive exchange and a friendly relationship.
"Mind And Motion" was released across Europe in 1994 and sold particularly in Northern Europe . The CD is still available in various internet shops and a few copies are even offered in Japan or South America.
Lunarchy is still musically active, even if no records have been released in recent years.
