Lupicinus from Condat
Lupicinus von Condat (* around 400 in Burgundy , † around 480 in Saint-Claude ) was a hermit, founder of a monastery and is a saint.
Lupicinus was the brother of Romanus von Condat and followed him into the Jura forests. Together with his brother he founded several monasteries, including Condat (today Saint-Claude ), Leuconne, with his sister Iola the women's convent La Beaume (today Saint-Romain-de-Roche ) and probably also Romainmôtier in the canton of Vaud (Switzerland). After Romanus' death in 463 or 464, Lupicinus became abbot of the Condat monastery . He died around 480 and was buried in Leuconne (now Saint-Lupicin ).
His feast day is February 28th (along with St. Romanus) or March 21st.
