Lutschanen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lutschanen ( Lučanen , Czech Lučané , Latin Liusena ) were a west Slavic tribe in north-west Bohemia .

location

The settlement area of the Lutschanen was on the upper Ohře and probably south of it. Draguš Castle is mentioned at today's Postoloprty .

history

The Chronica Boemorum des Cosmas of Prague from the 12th century is the most important written source. The accounts of the 9th century, however, are still legendary.

The so-called Lutschanenkrieg (863?) Between the Lutschanen under Vlastislav and the Přemyslids under Neklan " in campo qui dicitur turzko ", probably near Tursko north of Prague, is known above all .

In 1086 a document (which probably describes the relationship in 973) mentions Liusena between Sedlitschanen and Datschianen .
