Lutz Johannsen (born June 24, 1960 in Münnerstadt / Lower Franconia, nee Streit, formerly Kretschmann-Johannsen) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1997 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2008 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . Since 1998 he has been campaigning against AIDS .

Life

Lutz Johannsen graduated from secondary school in Sankt Peter-Ording in 1977 and then began an apprenticeship as a cook in Westerdeichstrich near Büsum.

Then he did his military service in the naval supply school (List on Sylt). From 1983 he attended the hotel management school in Hamburg, which he graduated in 1985 as a business economist in the hotel and restaurant trade, at the same time he took the examination for secondary school leaving certificate and passed his trainer aptitude test. From 1986–1992 he worked as head waiter, restaurant director and catering manager. In 1992, together with Willi Prange, he founded the "big spender eV" as a project that acquired donations in the sense of fundraising for AIDS aid projects. From 1994 to 1996 Lutz Johannsen was the office manager of “big spender eV”.

In 2004 Lutz Johannsen entered into a civil partnership with his long-term partner Uwe Johannsen. At times he had the double name Kretschmann-Johannsen. Since 2008 he only bears the name Johannsen. In November 2017, he entered into marriage for everyone with his partner.

In the 1997 state election campaign, Johannsen became election campaign leader of the SPD Hamburg . The outcome of the election brought him into the Hamburg state parliament, the Hamburg citizenship.

As the first openly homosexual member of an SPD parliamentary group, he performed a. a. a contribution to the gender equality policy of homosexual women and men in Hamburg. Orders and awards

Former German President Johannes Rau has awarded Lutz Johannsen the Federal Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . On March 4, 2003, Lutz Johannsen received the Cross of Merit from Hamburg's First Mayor, Ole von Beust, in the town hall.

With this award, Rau honored Johannsen's merits in the field of AIDS prevention and support for AIDS aid projects. Lutz Johannsen is one of the initiators and founders of the largest fundraiser association for AIDS aid projects in Germany, "big spender eV". After it was founded, Lutz Johannsen led the association first as chairman of the board, then as office manager.
