Lutz Otte

Lutz Otte (born April 1959 in Solingen ) is a German software developer and book author.

Otte worked in 2007 at the Swiss bank Julius Baer , where he, among other records of around 2,700 German customers illegally copied and 1.1 million euros sold to German tax authorities (see tax evaders CD ). In July 2012, Otte was arrested at his workplace. He was later charged; In August 2013, the Swiss Federal Criminal Court sentenced him to 36 months in prison, with half of the sentence suspended.

In 2015, ARD broadcast the documentary The Big Tax Fraud - The Experiences of Whistleblower Lutz Otte by John A. Kantara in the series Die Story im Erste .

Based on what happened, he wrote a fiction book that appeared in 2015.

Otte has lived in northern Germany since his release from prison .
