Luwuk is the capital of the Indonesian administrative district Banggai ( Central Sulawesi Province ).
geography
Luwak is located on the east coast of the island of Sulawesi , on the Seram Sea . Administratively, the city is divided into the two Desa Lumpoknyo and Tontouan and the eight Kelurahan Baru , Bungin , Bungin Timur , Karaton , Keleke , Luwuk , Mangkio Baru and Soho .

In the port of Luwuk there is a small population of Banggai cardinalfish that arose from animals that have fled fishing stations.
history
On May 4, 2000, the region around Luwuk was hit by an earthquake. It had a strength M w 7.6 on the moment magnitude scale. 46 people were killed as a result.
