Lucius Keller

Luzius Georg Keller (born June 9, 1938 in Zurich ) is a Swiss Romance scholar and Proust specialist.

Live and act

Keller received his doctorate under Georges Poulet at the University of Zurich in 1964 and qualified as a professor in 1969. He was from 1970 exceptional , later until his retirement in 2003 full professor of French literature from the Renaissance to the present day at the University of Zurich. He is known as a Proust translator. He has completely revised Eva Rechel-Mertens ' translation of Marcel Proust's novel In Search of Lost Time , translated some of it anew and provided it with detailed comments.
