The market town of Wolfsegg am Hausruck is located in the Hausruckviertel (Upper Austria) in the Vöcklabruck district.

Wolfsegg Castle

Wolfsegg Castle is a complex built on a hill in the 17th century. The castle consists of a three-story main building and a back wing, which are connected by two-story active wings. The farm building, north of the castle, is in the shape of a horseshoe.

Barbaraquelle

The Barbarabrunnen was built when the local square in Kohlgrube was redesigned. The high sulfur water probably comes from the former mine tunnels.

Peasants War Memorial

To commemorate the last battle of the 2nd Peasant War on November 20, 1626, the local farmers erected this granite memorial on the ridge of the Schanze in 1989 . Around 2000 farmers were destroyed by the equestrian general Pappenheim . Their leader Berndl was stabbed to death, several hundred farmers were killed and the market was plundered. On clear days, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Alpine foothills with the impressive 300 kilometer panorama from the Großer Ötscher in the Styrian-Lower Austrian Limestone Alps to the Untersberg in the Salzburg Limestone Alps.

The miner's showroom is located in the Kohlgrube; numerous objects are stored in it in order to maintain the tradition.

Miner's cross

The new miner's cross was inaugurated on September 14, 1958. At the initiative of Pastor Schneebauer, an iron cross was erected in place of the old, dilapidated wooden cross in memory of those miners who were sacrificed during the two centuries in which coal was mined in Wolfsegg of their occupation died in or outside the pit. The design comes from the WTK's fitter at the time, Heinrich Brunner from Kohlgrube, who also carried out the production.

Lignite has been mined in Wolfsegg and Ampflwang since 1757. Up to 1967 coal was mined by Wolfsegg-Traunthaler Kohlenwerk AG in the market town of Wolfsegg am Hausruck. The last coal hunt was funded in 1995 in Schmitzberg, Ampflwang municipality. The coal mining tradition is maintained in the market town of Wolfsegg by the miners' association. The Barbara show tunnel at the sports field, built in 1996, is intended to commemorate this important time.

The hunter's picture was erected in memory of the chief forester Anton Lintner and is adorned with hunting and religious motifs. Marian column

The Marian column stands on a small green space on the market square between Obelsthamerstraße and the road towards Kohlgrube. The castle owner Mathias Ferdinand Castner had it built in 1702 in honor of the painful Mother of God to avert the Bavarian danger of war. The statue is made of stone, the sandstone base was replaced by a granite base in the course of road construction in the 1960s.

Plate Lorenz Column

In 1873 the Platte-Lorenz-Column was created as the first monument connected with mining. Karl Platte was the first mountain administrator under the County of St. Julien, and Wenzel Lorenz was his son-in-law. After their death and before that under Josef Werndl, who acquired the business in 1872 and owned it until 1889, this monument was erected to commemorate them. The broken pillar is supposed to symbolize the loss of these two professionals as a support for the mining operation.
