Lyn Ashley

Lyn Ashley (* 18th March 1940 as Lynette Rumble in Townsville , Queensland ) is an Australian actress .

Life

Ashley began her career in 1961 with an episode role in the British crime series Secret Order for John Drake . In addition to other guest appearances, she played the recurring role of Valerie Peters in the soap opera Compact between 1963 and 1965 . In 1965 she was seen as Drahvin Three in four episodes of the cult series Doctor Who . She made her feature film debut in 1967 in Michael Winner's comedy What comes next ...? alongside Orson Welles and Oliver Reed . She took on her second and so far last feature film role in 1971 alongside Joan Collins and Denholm Elliott in the drama In Search of Love .

In 1969 she married Eric Idle , and appeared as Mrs. Idle in five episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus . Their son Carey was born in 1973, after which she appeared again in three episodes of Idle's sketch show Rutland Weekend Television , before she initially retired from show business. In 1975 the marriage with Idle was divorced.

Only a few TV appearances followed in the soap operas Angels and Families ; She was last seen in 2000 in the hospital series Casualty .
