Lyndhurst

Lyndhurst is a city in northeast South Australia and is 606 kilometers north of Adelaide . It is located at the intersection of Strzelecki and Oodnadatta Track . The place in the outback , through which a railway line once passed, now consists of only a few buildings. Today Lyndhurst is a meeting place for tourists or locals traveling northeast to Innamincka on the Strzelecki Track or north via Marree on the Oodnadatta Track to Oodnadatta or on the Birdsville Track to Birdsville .

The Ockre Cliffs are five kilometers north of Lyndhurst. The red ocher color found there is of high intensity and quality that it has been mined and used for cultic purposes by the far-traveling Aborigines for thousands of years.
