Lynn Davis

Lynn Davis (* 1944 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American photographer who is best known for her large-format photographs of natural and architectural monuments.

Life

Lynn Davis studied at the University of Colorado and the University of Minnesota and from 1967 to 1970 at the San Francisco Art Institute , where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts . In 1974 she worked as an assistant to Berenice Abbott . In several years of collaboration with Robert Mapplethorpe , nudes were created, which were shown in a joint exhibition in New York in 1979 and in a solo exhibition at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in 1990 . Since a stay in Greenland in 1986 she has only been photographing landscapes and architecture. Davis lives in Hudson, New York with her husband, writer and screenwriter Rudy Wurlitzer .
