Lynne Featherstone, Baroness Featherstone (born December 20, 1951 in Highgate , Middlesex , England ) is a British politician of the Liberal Democrats .

Life

After finishing school in London , Featherstone studied communication and design at Oxford Polytechnic . From May 4, 2000 to June 6, 2005, Featherstone was a member of the London Assembly .

From May 5, 2005 to May 7, 2015, she was a Member of the House of Commons for the constituency of Hornsey and Wood Green in London . In the Home Office , she was Parliamentary Under-Secretary from 2010 to 2012 and Minister of State from 2014 to 2015 . In addition, she was Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Government Equalities Office from 2010 to 2011 and Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Department for International Development from 2012 to 2014 .

After leaving the House of Commons in 2015 , she was promoted to Life Peer on October 20, 2015 as Baroness Featherstone , of Highgate in the London Borough of Haringey . This also made her a member of the House of Lords .

Featherstone has been divorced since 1996 and has two children.
