Heinrich Hartung von Hartungen (born January 21, 1884 in Vienna ; † March 11, 1964 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian graduate engineer .

Life

Heinrich Hartung von Hartungen was born on January 21, 1884 in Vienna as the third son of Christoph Hartung von Hartungen (IV.) And Clara born. Winter, daughter of the merchant Carolus Antonius Franciscus Winter, was born. Erhard (III.), Christoph (V.) and Hartmut were his brothers.

Hartung von Hartungen spent his childhood and youth in Riva on Lake Garda and graduated from the then kk state high school in Trento . He then completed a year of practical training at Siemens-Schuckert-Werken in Nuremberg , which was followed by studies at the Technical University of Karlsruhe , where he received his Dipl.-Ing. received his doctorate. From 1910 to 1912 he was site manager in the difficult Schlossbachgraben section of the Mittenwald Railway . Then he joined the Tyrolean State Construction Service and was responsible for the construction of Pitztaler Strasse. In 1919 Hartung von Hartungen married the daughter of an architect and engineer who was born in Prague .

In the aftermath of the First World War , Hartung von Hartungen was taken over into the Italian civil service and completed the construction of the Fersina - Avisio road near Trento, which had already been started by Austria, followed by the improvement of extensive marshland near Pisa and the regulation of the Dora Baltea . From 1932 to 1942 he took over the conversion and expansion of important state roads, including the Splügen , Maloja , Stilfserjoch , Aprica and Tonale passes, on behalf of the Lombardy Road Construction Department. Hartung von Hartungen has received numerous awards from the Italian state for his services. In the course of relocating to North Tyrol in 1942, he was first transferred to Feldkirch , then appointed to the head of the State Building District Office in Reutte . Here, after the end of the Second World War, he made great contributions to the reconstruction of the roads in Ausserfern, which had been destroyed many times . Hartung von Hartungen died on March 11, 1964 in Innsbruck.
