Erhard Christoph Clemens Hartung von Hartungen (* July 7, 1880 in Vienna , † July 15, 1962 in Innsbruck ; according to family numbers Erhard III. ) Was an Austrian doctor and the last head of the sanatorium Dr. v. Hartungen in Riva on Lake Garda .

Life

Erhard Hartung von Hartungen was born on July 7, 1880 in Vienna, Opernring 15, as the eldest son of Christoph Hartung von Hartungen (IV.) And Clara born. Winter, daughter of the merchant Carolus Antonius Franciscus Winter, was born. Christoph (V.), Heinrich and Hartmut were his brothers.

After taking private lessons in his parents' house in Vienna, Hartung von Hartungen and his family moved to Riva on Lake Garda in 1888 and subsequently attended high schools in Brixen and Trient , where he graduated from high school in 1899. After training in the sanatoriums of Engelberg in Switzerland and Arco in Trentino , Hartung von Hartungen headed the spa facilities Tobelbad near Graz, Agathenhof near Friesach in Carinthia and worked in Kaltenleutgabe in the spa facilities of the balneologist Wilhelm Winternitz together with Alois Strasser . Magnus Hirschfeld , who was interested in the naturopathic, psychotherapeutic and spiritual-cultural experiments in Riva, accepted a personal invitation from Hartung von Hartungens not only as a sanatorium guest, but also as a speaker for evening lectures. Decades later, after the loss of the family property as a result of the First World War , both Heinrich and Thomas Mann wrote to Hartung von Hartungen about the happy and unforgettable times in Riva .

Hartung von Hartungen experienced the World War from 1915 to 1918 as senior medical officer of the Order of Malta . In the 1920s he set up the cold water sanatorium of the Strand-Palast-Hotel in Lochau on Lake Constance , ran a spa and spa medical practice in the spa town of Hall in Tyrol and then finally settled down as a doctor in Innsbruck, where he was the head of the Innsbruck medical profession Died July 15, 1962.
