Lynnwood is a city in Snohomish County in the US state of Washington with 36,997 inhabitants (as of 2015) on an area of ​​25.97 km².

The first non-Indian settlers in the area of ​​what is now Lynnwood was the Scottish stonemason Duncan Hunter, who built a house around 1890. More settlers followed and in 1895 the first school was built. Forestry and agriculture have long been the main sources of income in the area. In 1959 the city of Lynnwood was founded on 7.7 km² with 6000 inhabitants. The city grew with the connection of further areas.

In Lynnwood, the Alderwood Mall, opened in 1979, is one of the largest shopping centers in Snohomish County.
