Lyris

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lyris ( poetry from Israel ) is a group of German-speaking poets based in Jerusalem . The poets come from Germany, Austria and Bukovina . It connects the common language and the fate of emigration.

The Lyris Circle

The Lyris Circle was founded in 1982 by Annemarie Königsberger († 2008). Since then the group has met once a month in Jerusalem. Each member recites three of their own poems. There is criticism, discussion and serious and humorous work on one's own poetry. The Lyris Circle has been publishing anthologies of poetry since 1985 . It contains texts from the core of the group, from guests and poems from deceased members.

Members

The number of members fluctuates. Due to the old age of the members, some of them are no longer able to attend the meetings regularly. The group is characterized by its openness: everyone who writes in German is welcome. Younger authors are also increasingly becoming part of the Lyris group. Some members (selection):
