The Lyttelton Range is a 26 km long, narrow and northwest running mountain range in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . South of the Dunedin Range in the Admiralty Mountains , it forms the western boundary of the upper section of the Dennistoun Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the port city of Lyttelton in New Zealand , where many expedition ships on their way over the years the Antarctic replenished its supplies; The name was also given to the friendliness and cooperation of its citizens with the US research teams.
