Mädler is an impact crater on the southern hemisphere of the Earth's moon . It lies in a mare that connects the Sinus Asperitatis in the north with the Mare Nectaris in the southeast. To the west is the striking Theophilus crater , and Mädler lies in the middle of its outer ramparts.
The crater rim of Mädler is irregular and somewhat elongated in shape. The crater floor is criss-crossed by a chain of hills on which a low central peak is leaning. To the east of the crater there are radial markings that enclose a ring-shaped structure in the northeast.
