The company was founded in 1859 as a small forge. Production takes place at two locations in Germany ( Halver and Großbodungen in Thuringia ). In 1949, the company started manufacturing valves for large diesel engines. The company also has offices in the United States , Singapore , the People's Republic of China and Japan . In the 2017/2018 financial year, the Märkische Werk achieved sales of EUR 60.9 million, of which EUR 49.3 million was achieved through export services. In addition to 385 employees, it also employed temporary workers . The company logo with the letters MWH represents a hexagon.

Products

The Märkisches Werk is a manufacturer and supplier of components and cylinder head systems for large two- and four-stroke engines that are used in ships, locomotives, power stations, and oil and gas systems. According to its own statements, the company supplies over 90% of the world's large engine manufacturers.

The product range includes valves , seat rings, guides , springs and valve rotating devices (Turnomat).
