Möbel Hardeck (own spelling: HARDECK ) is a furniture retail chain with branches in Bochum , Hilden , Senden and Bramsche .

history

The family company was founded in 1937 by Aenne and Karl Hardeck in Bochum . At this location, the furniture store has developed into a traditional company over the decades.

During the Second World War, the company was completely destroyed several times and rebuilt in Bochum-Werne in 1945. In 1950, Karl-Ernst and Margret Hardeck, the second generation, took over management of the company.

In 1984 the head office in Bochum with 8,000 m² of exhibition space was built at the current location in Laer and Karl-Ernst Hardeck sen. and Karl-Ernst Hardeck jun. from then on managed the company together.

After several extensions, a new building, a zero energy house , was built on the opposite side of the street in 2000 , which was connected to the main building by a bridge. This 45 m long, two-storey pedestrian bridge connects both parts of the building across the streets via the “Werner Hellweg” federal road. As a result of the new building, the exhibition area of the Bochum parent company grew to around 40,000 m². The company's second location is the “Hardi” take-away furniture store in Bochum. Hardi primarily offers young living on 12,000 m².

Since 2014, Karl-Ernst Hardeck and Dirk Hardeck have jointly managed the company, which is now owner-managed in the fourth generation. In addition, Möbel Hardeck became a furniture retail chain that year. On January 1, 2014 the Möbel Staas company with the locations in Bramsche and Senden-Bösensell was taken over and renamed Hardeck on July 30, 2014. The same applies to the previously acquired trend stores in Bramsche and Senden-Bösensell, which have been trading under the name Hardi since the end of July 2014.

At the Bramsche location, the furniture store there offers furniture from all areas of living on an exhibition area of 35,000 m² . There, too, the area is distributed over three houses. House 3 in Bramsche is home to the HARDI take-away market, which mainly presents furniture from the young living area on around 4,000 m².

The furniture store at the Senden-Bösensell location also has an exhibition area of around 35,000 m². 4,000 m² of this is allocated to the Hardi take-away market, which is located on the ground floor of the Möbel Hardeck-Haus and mainly offers furniture from the young living segment.

Since 2015, Hardeck has also been represented in Hilden near Düsseldorf through the takeover of the "Möbelzentrum Vonnahm" company .

According to the furniture culture magazine , Möbel Hardeck was ranked 12th among the top-selling German furniture retailers in 2017. In 2017, Möbel Hardeck reportedly employed more than 1,500 people at all locations.
