The Möwensee is a lake created by gravel mining in the southeast of the city of Nordhausen am Harz . Together with the trout lake , diving lake , Bielener lake and Sundhäuser lake , the Möwensee forms a lake landscape.
Its length is 1.2 kilometers and its maximum width is 700 meters. The maximum depth is 46 m.
use
The gravel deposits were lifted by the so-called bucket conveyor technology, which led to extraordinary underwater formations. Due to the low pollution of the water, the Möwensee is ideal for diving. The diving experience is optimized by the conveyors still in the lake.
The fauna consists mainly of perch , but also of other freshwater fish.
