Mønsted is a Danish municipality with 747 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Jutland . Until 1970 Mønsted belonged to the parish of the same name ( Mønsted Sogn in the Harde Fjends Herred , Viborg Amt ), from 1970 to the Viborg municipality in what was then Viborg Amt, which became part of the local government reform on January 1, 2007 in the "new" Viborg municipality in the region Midtjylland has risen.
Mønsted is known for the Mønsted lime pits .
