Münch , also Munch or Muench , is the name of an old Thuringian noble family from the County of Camburg .

history

The family first appeared in a document on October 9, 1180 with the Reich Ministerial Heinrich von Würchhausen (Wirchusen) in Würchhausen , wealthy in Nieder-Reißen near Buttstädt and in Wormstädt, Altenburg . The family first appears under its current name on June 2, 1311 with Bernardus Monachus de Camburg and 1348–1349 with Nycolaus Munche de Wirchhusen , wealthy in Gosserstädt (since the 17th century Münchengosserstädt ) and Wormstädt. The safe trunk series begins with Christoph Münch , Lord of Würchhausen and Döbritschen, who appears in a document from 1535 to 1570.

Possessions

The place Bernsdorf, today Münchenbernsdorf , was given this family name "Münch" as an addition when the dukes Friedrich and Johann von Sachsen enfeoffed the knight's seat with Vorwerk and Dorf zu Bernßdorf and the Vorwerk zu Rothembach to their councilor and bailiff of Jena Heinrich Monch .

In 1494 Hermann von Münch owned the Wirchhausen (Würchhausen) estate, which in 1615 still belonged to the family. Goods near Münchenbernsdorf, Dornburg , Herrengosserstedt , Münchengosserstädt , Ramala, Salborn and Ulrichshalben. Later also at home in Saxony and Prussia.
