Duderstadt coin
The Celtic coin from Duderstadt was found in a field in Duderstadt in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony before the Second World War .
The slightly bowl-shaped piece is a stater of the Celtic tribe of the Remer in Belgium and northern France . It is made of gold and weighs 5.816 g. It was minted around 40 to 20 BC. On the British Isles , after the invasion of Gallo-Belgian tribes. The coin minted on one side shows the motif of a horse over a wheel, which is common among the Remers.
The coin is located in the State Museum in Hanover .
